Lost dogs of texas
Your Friend in a Crisis
No Fees For Anything
(Would a friend charge you to help find your dog?)
Go to PetFBI.org and create a free lost flyer to find your dog. You get a free lost or found flyer which we will post on our Facebook page here. PetFBI.org is the largest lost and found pet database in the world. Your lost dog goes on the map and the flyer is emailed to neighbors who have requested to be notified if a dog is lost or found in their area. LostDogsOfTexas.com takes you right to our large popular Facebook page. You might just find your lost dog there!
Don't panic! Have a plan. Look on the menu above for checklists and tips. Here is one now! Put your dirty laundry on your porch! You might just find your lost dog on that laundry in the morning. You would not be the first to make that happy discovery. Good luck, never give up, use our free flyers, and be smart in your search by exploring our many creative suggestions on how to find your lost dog. (Leave your gate ajar and your garage door up one foot.)
What a nice neighbor you are to help a found dog go home! Most lost dogs live nearby. That is why you must put up found posters in your neighborhood. Don't wait to see a lost flyer. Not everyone knows how to make a lost flyer or to post their lost dog online. Or maybe the lost flyer is somewhere you are not seeing it. NEVER assume an owner is not looking or does not care because you don't see a lost flyer. Lost Dogs of Texas exists because there are so many missed connections between the person who lost the dog and the person who found the dog.
Look on the menu above for tips. Here is one now, join NextDoor.com and post the flyer we will send you. Many dogs go home simply because the Good Sam posted our flyer on NextDoor.
Fee services are not as good as our free service. They take your money and make you think everything possible has been done to get your dog home. WRONG! You have to go in person to deliver your free lost or found dog flyers to the shelter and vets. Vets and shelters pay no attention to emails or faxes with free posters about lost or found dogs. We tell you what works and how to do it and our volunteers help you for free because they care, not because they are overseas workers being paid pennies to talk you into buying their so-called services.
Here is a tip that is especially useful during a pandemic when you can't go door to door. Do Driveway Drops!
We work with shelters around the country to increase their Return to Owner rate by researching microchips with defective registrations to find owners and get lost dogs and cats home. More information is available at our site MicrochipHelp.com
There has been a sense in this country that dogs in shelters need homes. We are working hard to change that mindset. Found dogs don't need a home. Found dogs need to go home!

We want rescues and shelters to see that the dogs they find are not all unwanted, but many are fiercely loved and their families just need help to find them.
Seeing a need for nonprofit work in this area, we formed our organization in 2012 to help lost dogs go home. We are an all volunteer group that makes Texas families whole again by reuniting
owners with their lost dogs.
We focus on getting lost dogs home and educating the public on how to keep their dogs safe. We believe most found dogs don't need a home, they need to go home!
We use donations to fund projects like free microchip events to help get lost and found dogs home. Sometimes we help with redemption fees or with expenses associated with helping people find their lost dogs. We do not pay ourselves. We are all volunteers who provide our services for free. Your donation is tax deductible as we are a 501c3.
